What are Islam’s holidays or holy days?

• There are two official holidays in Islam:
• Eid al-Fitr which is celebrated at the end of Ramadan
• Ramadan is a month in the Islamic lunar calendar which is a month of fasting, introspection, self-improvement and a month in which Muslims are meant to focus on getting closer to God.
• Eid al-Adha is another holiday which celebrates the sacrifice of Abraham of his son Ishmael (Ismail) as an act of obedience to God. This story is also mentioned in the Bible
• Some holy days in Islam are:
• Ramadan
• The Night of Power
• The Day of Ashura
• Fridays (Jummah)
• Mondays and Thursdays
